American Eagle Outfitter Foundation

AE supports communities in four ways: Gift Card Donations for Events, Financial Grants, Fundraising Card Programs, and the Eagle Salute Associate Volunteer Program.

This nonrenewable scholarship of up to $5000 is available to minority male students as commendation for their ambition and tenacity in pursuing a higher education. Awards will be made based on a combination of need and merit. Students are required to submit an on-line application, documentation regarding foster care status and financial need, and an essay on the lessons learned since high school.

Casey Family Scholarships

The Orphan Foundation of America is pleased to announce a new, one-time-only Casey Family Scholarships opportunity for Male Students of Color in Post-Secondary Education.

Applicants must: Verify their status as having aged out of the US foster care system; be graduating in good standing from an accredited vocational or technical training program, college or university in 2005.

Chiron Foundation

The Chiron Corporation, a global biopharmaceutical company, establishes a foundation to address health, education and community concerns in areas where it has operations. Heathcare funding goes for patient education and disease prevention. Education grants focus on improving student access to quality educational resources and learning opportunities, with a primary focus on the sciences. Community funds focus on agencies addressing the needs of at-risk children and youth.

Ford Foundation

The Ford Foundation provides funds for teen sexual health programs through its Community and Resource Development and Education, Sexuality and Religion priorities. There are no deadlines. The initial letter of intent should include a project's purpose, information on nonprofit, and estimated overall budget.

Grants From The Teammates For Kids Foundation

The Teammates for Kids Foundation accepts proposals for grants from nonprofit organizations that specialize in working with children. Grants from the Foundation support the on-going work of operating organizations that help needy children in the areas of health, education and inner-city services.

Kimberly-Clark Foundation

The Kimberly-Clark Foundation will fund substance abuse services, including those connected to healthcare and homeless programs, minorities, human services and youth programs. The foundation will support annual campaigns, building/ renovation, capital campaigns, continuing support, employee matching gifts, equipment, general operating support, land acquisition and research Grants have reached $1.7 million, but most average $1,000-$75,000. Giving is national in focus, but primarily in communities where the company has operations. An application form is not required, but potential applicants are advised to approach the board initially with a proposal.

Public Welfare Foundation Announces Funding Priorities For 2005

The foundation supports nonprofit organizations that provide child care, early education, and other programs for at-risk and economically disadvantaged children in underserved communities. The Allstate Foundation provides support to nonprofit organizations for national programs and for local programs in company communities throughout the United States. The Foundation focuses its support on three areas: tolerance, inclusion, and diversity, including teaching tolerance to youth, alleviating discrimination, and ending hate crimes; safe and vital communities, including catastrophe response and mitigation, youth anti-violence, and neighborhood revitalization; and economic empowerment, including financial and insurance education, economic literacy, and entrepreneurial business skill development. Tony Hawk Foundation

The primary mission of the Tony Hawk Foundation is to promote high-quality, public skateparks in low-income areas throughout the United States.

Foundation grants are awarded to encourage and facilitate the design, development, construction, and operation of new skateboard parks and facilities in low-income commun- ities. Grants may be requested in amounts ranging from $1,000 to $25,000.

Mattel Launches New Domestic Grants Program
